1. Is SPP open to children who are on an IEP or who have a developmental concern?

Yes, any child who is otherwise eligible for SPP may apply. If your child has a qualifying IEP, please connect with your IEP team to discuss placement options. If you are not sure how to get ahold of your IEP team, please reach out to SPS at earlylearning@seattleschools.org. If your child is participating in developmental preschool, then you are welcome to apply to SPP locations that are not SPP+ locations.

2. What accommodations are made for children with special needs or Individualized Education Program (IEPs)?

SPP collaborates closely with Seattle Public Schools to deliver the specialized instruction or other services required by the child’s IEP.

To learn about resources and supports provided by Seattle Public Schools for children with IEPs enrolled at an SPP site at Seattle Public Schools, please call the SPS Early Learning Department at (206) 252-0600 or email at earlylearning@seattleschools.org.
For children with IEPs who are enrolled at a community-based organization through SPP, parents/guardians are encouraged to be in communication with their special education case manager for any modifications to, or questions about the child’s IEP.
